During the reformation and the 1800s Christmas was not celebrated in the US because it was considered un-Christian ..too much reveling and worldy behavior.. it was a federal holiday mostly. It was not until 1840 it became popular and took off and thats when the Vatican made it official as Christ birthday. It was illegal in boston during that era and people were fined if caught doing such..the us adopted it from England who adopted it from Germany. ... what does a pine tree, the holly, wreaths, getting drunk, exchanging gifts, going broke buying gifts, parties everywhere, Santa Claus and reindeer s have to do with christ? I could go on but the list of things is too long...Jeremiah 10 :3-4 saysfor the customs of the people are vain:for one cutter a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with an ax..... they deck it with silver and gold (decorations); they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not..read from verse one to five anybody. The bible does not lie Dec 25 is not the birth of christ its called saturnalia, the sun- gods day of deification. And worship.this is pagan worship going on in thousands of churches to this very day.please stop this my people your pastor is misleading you all.or maybe thats what he was taught in theology school else he cannot graduate. ..they cannot graduate because its a must...read the text for yourselves and see what you feel after reading... amen..
