During the spay clinic, I was called to help a mama dog with puppies who had been being abused by non supervised children in the Edgewood Circle area. There were 2 ladies who live on that street who stood up for this dog family and actually had to hide these dogs until I could come. The children of one lady had to stand up to some kids on the street to make them get off the property. So when I came to get the dogs, an employee of the shelter came with me. He had to stand at my car to keep these children away from trying to harass us and the lady who had been taking care of the mama before she delivered. She is a mature in age lady but you would not have known that by the way she stood her ground. I am so proud of her and her neighbor who again did the right thing for the right reason. The mama dog is a beautiful black lab with white chest who also has a circular scar all the way around her neck where she had been staked out in the yard with a wire wrapped around her neck It sawed into her neck. We have 8 puppies who are fat and sassy. They are about 3-4 weeks old. We would like for some of our supporters to sponsor these puppies for 2 rounds of vaccines and worming. Once this is done, they are primed to be adopted outside of the county. We will spend close to $20 per puppy just on these few meds. So please consider helping. Thanks. Beth Florek
