E-PRAYER EPMICHIGAN REGION MISSIONARY CHURCH WEDNESDAY MAY 7, 2014 PRAYER & PRAISE: 1. 200 pastors, delegates and guests attended yesterdays Regional Conference at THE ORCHARDS COMMUNITY CHURCH, ROMEO. Inspirational messages were delivered by MC President, REV. STEVE JONES, and Regional Director, REV. JIM KELLER. REV. JEFF HOSSLER and the crew from THE ORCHARDS did a great job of hosting and making everyone welcome. We praise God for this time to come together, conduct business and focus on Gods plans for the Michigan Region. 2. Prayer is requested for KATHLEEN PRINCE, daughter of REV. DON & CINDY PRINCE - BATES MC, WILLIAMSBURG. Kathleen is fourteen years old and has cerebral palsy. She is having surgery to lengthen tendons in her hips and knee today, May 7, at DeVos Childrens Hospital, Grand Rapids. 3. REV. CLIFF BATTERBEE, retired Regional pastor, had surgery yesterday for a detached retina. Pray that his recovery will be uneventful. 4. Please lift up DR. PHIL BURKETT, CASS CITY MC, as he will have a laparoscopic colectomy on Friday, May 9, at Covenant Medical Center, Saginaw (Harrison). If all goes well and they are able to do the procedure laparoscopically he will be hospitalized for 2-4 days. Pray for a successful procedure and a quick recovery for Phil. 5. Continue to pray for a team from WALLED LAKE MC as they are ministering among the Maasai people. REV. MATT MALONEY, his son JONNY, and CLIFF YANTZ left on May 3rd for a two week missions trip to KENYA and TANZANIA. Pray for them as they seek to strengthen local pastors and encourage them in their church planting efforts. May they have safety as they travel and work in African villages. 6. NEW LIFE MC, BAY CITY, had a successful trip to Kentucky where they served at the Red Bird Mission. Praise God for the lives that were changed and that one young man sensed a call to vocational ministry. 7. THE SONS LIFE MC, SEBEWAING, baptized nine believers on Palm Sunday. Continue to pray for this infant church in Michigans Thumb. 8. CAMDEN GREEN, infant grandson of REV. CHARLIE & JOYCE GREEN (NEW HOPE FELLOWSHIP - CLARE) continues to recover from his heart surgery. He was released from the hospital yesterday. 9. ONGOING PRAYER CONCERNS: Please pray that the pressure in CORA VANSLAMBROOKS right eye will continue to respond to the eye drops. She will see her doctor next Tuesday to determine the progress. Cora is the wife of REV. LARRY VANSLAMBROOK, Regional Oversight Council Secretary. Please continue to pray for retired Regional pastor, REV. DEAN COURSEY, as he deals with the pain caused by a compression fracture in the lumbar area of his back. GAIL STUTZMAN, daughter of retired Regional pastor REV. RICHARD & JUNE CULP, will meet with a surgeon next Wednesday to begin the strategy for a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. Continue to pray for Gail and her family as she deals with the fatigue caused by chemotherapy. SHARON CADRETTE, wife of DR. MIKE CADRETTE, CROSSROADS CC - CHINA, continues her oral chemo to shrink the tumor on her colon. Please pray for her stamina as the chemo leaves her worn out. RUTH SCHWERDTFEGER, daughter of DORIS (REV. OLEN) SCHLATTER, had cancer surgery in March is undergoing radiation and chemo treatments. Pray for ALEX FLEDDERJOHANN, son of REV. RICK & NANCY FLEDDERJOHANN (BROWN CITY MC) as he serves with the National Guard in Kuwait. WARREN VANCE, father of LAURA (PASTOR TYLER) LIU, is receiving intermittent chemo treatments for brain cancer. Please pray for him to come to the point of accepting Christ as his Savior. The Lius are church planters in NUNICA, MI. ANNOUNCEMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES: 1. BATES MC, WILLIAMSBURG - REV. DON & CINDY PRINCE work with Joni and Friends. The West MI group is hosing a retreat for families who are affected by disability and they are looking for people who can serve these families at the Kettunen Center (just south of Cadillac) July 1-6. Another retreat is planned in Marquette, August 23-28. Those interested in helping should contact Cindy Prince at (231) 271-1300. 2. HAPPY TIME CAMP, for 3rd - 6th grade children, takes place June 16-20 on the BROWN CITY CAMPGROUNDS. PAUL & JESSICA DIETZEL are the camp evangelists. Early bird registration cost is $90 and is due at the Regional Resource Center by May 17. Information is available on the Regions web site at:mcmichigan.org/happy_time_camp.php 3. Congratulations to CHRISTOPHER NAVETTA, PARKSIDE CC - STERLING HEIGHTS, who was named the Regions Student of the Year yesterday at Regional Conference. He will receive a $1,000 scholarship as he enters BETHEL COLLEGE in the fall as a ministry student. $500 scholarships to Bethel College will also be awarded to JOELLA KILLION - COLONIAL WOODS MC, LYDIA KRITZMAN - BETHEL MC, YALE, and SETH COLE - DAVISON MC. Congratulations to all four of these young people and their parents! 4. SUMMER CALENDAR: Brown City Camp Work Fellowship - June 9-13 Happy Time Childrens Camp - June 16-20 (Registrations are being accepted at the Regional Resource Center at this time.) Mancelona Family Camp - July 20-26 Brown City Family Camp - July 31-August 10
