EAT WELL. EAT OFTEN. Following a nutrition plan doesnt have to be complicated. When I began my journey back to good health, I simplified my life by taping this to my fridge. It helped a lot! Peg’s Sample Eating Plan • Eat within an hour of waking up • Eat about every 3 hours • Drink 8 - 12 glasses of water a day BREAKFAST • Oatmeal + berries, raisins, nuts - or • 1 or 2 eggs scrambled with 1 cup veggies - or • Protein shake or *Shakeology MID-MORNING SNACK • Veggie sticks and 2-3 tablespoons hummus - or • 1 package string cheese and about 6 almonds - or • 1 fruit (apple, pear, peach, plum, etc.) LUNCH • Large salad - or • *Shakeology MID-AFTERNOON SNACK • Choose from midmorning choices - or • Cup of lowfat or nonfat yogurt or lowfat cottage cheese with fruit & nuts DINNER Lean protein – choose from fish, chicken, turkey, pork, beans, tempeh (steak once in a while is fine) Veggies – a couple cupfuls of anything. We usually stir-fry onions and garlic with either zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, asparagus, green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers. Whole grains – brown or wild rice or quinoa or couscous or whole grain breads. *Shakeology is a super-nutritious meal replacement drink which I have found to be very helpful in maintaining good health. At about $4 per shake it is also an inexpensive breakfast or lunch. So convenient, too. For more info: shakeitup.info
