EMAIL FROM EEC -----Original Message----- From: Commissioners, Office (EEC) [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, February 19, 2014 4:41 PM Dear Early Education and Care Community, We want to thank you all of you for your continued engagement in the MA Quality Rating and Improvement System. The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care remains committed to the continued growth and development of the MA Quality Rating and Improvement System. We want to share with you several staff changes that went into effect on February 10, 2014. Three Program Quality Specialists transitioned into licensing roles; Christine Davidson in the Region 1 office, Joyce Fulmer in the Region 2 office, and Jamie Carragher in the Region 3 office. Their knowledge and experience has been an asset in supporting the field with QRIS, and we are excited that the field will continue to benefit from their experience in their new licensing roles. We understand that this transition may cause a delay in providing support for QRIS, and EEC is actively working to fill those positions as quickly as possible. While we will be reviewing resumes and setting up interviews, the Program Quality Specialist (PQS)unit, Gwen Alexander- Program Quality Improvement Manager, Cheryl McClellan- PQS Region 6 and Anne Hemmer- PQS Region 5, will be collaborating to support any programs with immediate concerns. Although there may be a delay in QRIS Application verifications in Regions 1, 2 and 3 during the interviewing and hiring process, the Program Quality Specialist unit will do their best to address your needs. If you have any questions you can send an email to: [email protected] and a staff member from the Program Quality Specialist unit will respond to your questions as quickly as possible. We are committed to the MA Quality Rating and Improvement System and want to thank you for your continued work, your commitment to improving quality and your patience during this transition period. With appreciation, Carol Nolan, Director of Policy Gwen Alexander, Program Quality Improvement Manager
