EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (Illustrative only) The Pool Manager will be expected to provide excellent customer service for clients, safe & clean conditions and an organized experience for staff. The individual in this capacity has specific duties relative to their job, in addition to, the general rules, policies, procedures, and expectations of the Department. Although every detail of the day-to-day job may not be included in this job description, the Pool Manager will be expected to perform the duties required to administer a successful program & provide a clean & presentable pool that provides a positive experience for the participants. Examples of Duties: • Orders supplies and equipment; • Hires, trains, and supervise seasonal employees; • Coordinates and implements summer and aquatics programs at Kik Pool; • Accounts for monies; • Keeps daily State required records of pool operations; • Performs and schedules pool maintenance; • Maintains and monitors leasing contracts for Kik Pool rentals. Responsibilities: • Preseason set-up of Kik Pool, including interviews, in-services and pre-season training for lifeguards; • Daily site checks at pool; • Acts as the liaison with Parks and Recreation Program Manager and main office staff; • Daily operational checks, inventory, records and maintenance of: o O2 Cylinders and AED at pool o Rescue equipment and first aid supplies o Weekly water sample test o Forms, reports, office supplies o Weekly reports and lifeguards reports o Incident reports o Mechanical room, boiler, pump and balance tank o Chemical room • Maintain proper signage; • Keep the Aquatics office clean and organized; • Maintain professionalism among staff at Pool, during their breaks and during lap swim, open swim and swim lessons; • Provide the best customer service possible to our pool patrons and staff; • End of the season pool cleanup and equipment storage; • Treat everyone equally. Staff: • Secure proper paperwork for each lifeguard prior to first scheduled date of work; • Coordinate uniform orders, including uniform distribution, equipment/uniform exchange, equipment return and end of season equipment inventory; • Generate and communicate weekly work schedules for pool staff in a timely fashion. Copies should be posted in pool office; • Responsible for all staff discipline & parent situations, when required; • Lead weekly staff meetings, in-services and trainings throughout the summer, and having an agenda prepared, including emergency response and severe weather procedures; • Document all trainings; • Responsible for attending staff meetings as requested; • Collection and approval of timesheets, prior to submitting to the Parks and Recreation Office; • Responsible for evaluating staff throughout the season, final evaluations and submitting report to Parks and Recreation Program Manager; • Responsible for coordinating the Lifeguard Training submitting all paperwork to Jeff Ellis and Associates. Communication & Reports: • Communicate with Parks and Recreation Program Manager on a daily basis; • Be visible and active on site; • Develop working relationship with office and Camp staff; • Be approachable; • Turn in any incident reports within 24 hours; • Responsible for turning in a monthly report to the Parks and Recreation Program Manager; • Responsible for submitting a final program evaluation to Jeff Ellis & Associates. Essential Qualifications: • Must have a High School diploma including course work in Parks and Recreation or related field; • Two years experience in pool management; • Jeff Ellis & Associates Life Certification is required; • Cash handling experience; • Experience in supervising and managing staff; • Must have a good knowledge of aquatics programs coordination, implementation, and staff management; • Good knowledge of State regulations governing pool operations and pool maintenance; • Lifting (up to 50 lbs), stooping, some walking, standing, being outdoors and some desk work.
