ENDURE 24 - a visitors view! So tonight I drove down to Endure 24 to see for myself what it was all about. OMG! It was everything I dont like - rain, rivers of mud, camping, running on slippery and uneven ground, portaloos, wet, cold ..... I could go on but this is not about my personal view of Endure 24. This is about 13 SPR club members who have formed 2 teams to run a 24 hour race around the clock, day and night whatever the weather and conditions. And lets face it, the weather has not been kind to them at all. I think they are bonkers. They know they are bonkers. BUT .... they are all absolutely loving it! They are wet, cold, tired, hungry, muddy and much more but they are enjoying every minute of this endurance. Words like fantastic, awesome and brilliant are being banded around the SPR camp despite the weather. I am in awe of these 13 men and women of all ages and abilities and how they are running this race. They are determined to run and run and do their teams proud. And they are certainly doing SPR proud. Endure 24 is not for the faint-hearted.This is challenging and requires balls. I would urge club members to pay the SPR Endure teams a visit if you can. The race ends at midday tomorrow. Not only will it help to keep their spirits up, particularly if the weather doesnt break, but it may just encourage one or two more club members to take the Endure 24 challenge in 2015. Keep running SPR Endure runners you are ALL AWESOME!!
