ENTERTAINING ANGELS Hebrews 13:2, “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it”. Are you doing what you are doing for the appreciation of others or because you love and obey God? Many walk to be seen, talk to be praised and give to be noticed. We say that we want to be like God yet each day we walk past the downtrodden, ignore the rejected, overlook the suffering, and forget those in pain. Little do we know that looking the other way when our brother is in trouble is equal to rejecting Christ Himself. God loves the stranger, the widows, the orphans, the needy – therefore, man, if he loves God truly, is under an obligation to love his fellow man. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Matthew 25:34-36 If we say we are Christians, all our concerns, aspirations and heart desires must be subject to the Gospel by works of charity, knowing that we lose nothing by doing that which pleases God. PRAYER: Lord, give me your eyes, to find those which need what I have to give, in Jesus name!
