EXTERNAL USE OF VIRGIN COCONUT OIL Coconut oil used on your skin has many more benefits than commercial skin care products. In comparison to many skin creams and lotions, virgin coconut oil does not contain unpronounceable chemicals which can have long term, negative side effects. With coconut oil there are no adverse side effects on the skin and it prevents premature aging and degenerative diseases because of its anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant properties. Coconut Oil used externally has the following benefits: 1. Coconut Oil for sensitive skin Not only does coconut oil provide highly effective nurturing properties but also moisturizers. At the same time it creates an environment which bacteria and fungi don’t like and therefore skin infections and fungi can’t survive. The oil is a completely irritation free remedy and care product for many various skin problems. Virgin coconut oil can be used to control acne and eczema and even for babies’ diaper rash. 2. Virgin Coconut Oil ideal as a hand cream Hand creams are often filled with chemical substances, water and a lot of ingredients nobody knows the meaning of without serious study. Furthermore various parabens preservatives are used to preserve the hand lotion of which tests have shown that they are carcinogenic. Several times a week, massage some coconut oil into the scalp and wash the hair afterwards as usual. This method is effective and mild and can also be used for babies and toddlers with milk crust. 9. Virgin Coconut Oil as conditioner To nurture your hair and to make it soft and shiny, massage a thin layer of coconut oil into your scalp and hair. Leave it on your head for 10 to 15 minutes. To increase the effect, put a plastic bag over your head and wrap a towel around it to create some heat. Afterwards wash your hair as usual. You won’t need extra conditioner after using shampoo. 10. Coconut Oil to prevent hair loss The oil consists mainly of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) which are the perfect molecular structure to be absorbed by the scalp and the hair follicles where they efficiently improve the supply of nutrients. One of the most important fats in coconut oil is lauric acid. The micro-flora of the scalp interacts with the lauric acid and turns into mono-lauric acid which has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. These properties destroy various kinds of candida and other infectious viruses which impair the development of hair follicles. The stable MCTs in coconut oil act as a natural anti-oxidant and protect the follicles from damage through free radicals and therefore from hair loss. OTHER EXTERNAL USE OF VIRGIN COCONUT OIL 11. Virgin Coconut Oil is a natural, fluoride-free tooth cleaner with anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-mould effects. Cleaning your teeth with coconut oil can prevent caries.
