Each Member of Congress gets to bring one guest to the President’s State of the Union address, which will take place next Tuesday. Teachers make up the foundation of our communities by taking care of our children and fostering their education in an often thankless job. Today, I wish to say “thank you” to all teachers in Texas’ 28th District, and to honor the service of all teachers, I will be flying one to Washington, D.C. next week as my personal guest to the State of the Union. Later today, my staff is going to draw a name to see which teacher will be attending the State of the Union with me.
