Each county has an accounting officer. The accounting officer is capable of answering every question concerning how every cent allocated to the respective county was spent. Even when governors are asked questions in relation to the expenditure of public resources, they get answers from their accounting officers before they respond to the questions. Now my question is; why is the senate reluctant of getting answers to questions on county expenditures from the accounting officers? Why are the senators insisting on questioning the governors themselves? The reason is simple and stupid; the power-hungry senators want to look superior. Its not answers that they want.
