Each day I open the Cutgate page in the hope that someone other than me will have made an effort and posted a photo, occasionally, I am rewarded in my hopes; and I thank those who have made contributions! Like me, they will know the disappointment when barely more than a handful of viewers can be bothered to like; or make a comment on their posting. I sometimes post controversial and emotive content; and yet again I am disappointed in the viewer response! Always, those who lurk on the side-lines; and contribute nothing, suddenly spring to life with their opinions and condemnation of what I’ve posted. I then get a smattering of private messages saying they wholeheartedly agree with what I have posted, and how they would like to show their support/ backing, “But!” I used to enjoy doing this page; however, what seems to be an almost singular effort is now becoming a drudge, whatever the excuses you tell yourself for not making the effort of contributing, believe me; that 95% of them could have been applicable to me too! I spend hours daily in my efforts to provide content, I rarely get to watch live TV, I have to record things and watch them when I can! I neglect my duties and my family, I restrict where I walk to Rochdale and its environs; that I might get a photo that will prompt memories for one of our page viewers. Anyhow, I apologise to the handful that makes the daily effort, and I’m sorry to disappoint those of you who come here for a five minute nostalgia fix! “If you contribute nowt, you should expect nowt!”
