Eagles vs. Seahawks Final Score: Seattle snaps Philadelphias home game win streak, 24-14 The Eagles were by defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, 24-14. The Eagles fell to 9-4 on the 2014 NFL Season. Up next for the birds is a home game against the Dallas CowGirls. FIRST QUARTER Eagles win the opening toss, defer to Seattle. Seahawks receive first. Cody Parkeys opening kick lands at the 10-yard line. Groin injury coming into play. Seahawks 1st drive: Punt Russell Wilson scrambles and throws to help Seattle convert their first set of downs. Russell Okungs false start penalty forces the Seahawks into 3rd-and-15. Marshawn Lynch runs for the first down. 3rd-and-long continues to plague Philadelphia. Connor Barwin forces Wilson out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage for a loss and gets credited with the sack. First round pick Marcus Smith II also appeared to be involved in the play. Great coverage by Philadelphia to get a stop. Eagles 1st drive: Punt Seattles punt lands deep in Philadelphia territory. Darren Sproles lights up a Seattle special teams member much like Dwayne Harris hit Nolan Carroll in last weeks Dallas game. Three-and-out for the Eagles after they come out throwing on each play. Brent Celek was clearly hit early on second down before the ball arrived but no flag was thrown. Not a great start for Philly. Seahawks 2nd drive: Fumble Three-and-out. Wilson scrambles but goes down short of the marker. Seattle punter Jon Ryan fumbles the off-target snap and tries to recover but Smith II rips the ball out. Thats two good plays from the Eagles first round pick. Zach Ertz recovers and the Eagles special teams comes up big again. Philly takes over in scoring territory. Eagles 2nd drive: Touchdown (7-0, Eagles) Eagles get to 4rd-and-2 in the red zone and go for it. LeSean McCoy runs for the first. Maclin runs in motion, but Richard Sherman doesnt follow him to the other side of the field. Eagles snap the ball and Sanchez immediately hits Maclin for a catch and run for a touchdown. Just a brilliant play call there. Great block from Riley Cooper on the play, too. Seahawks 3rd drive Seahawks get a first after Brandon Boykin is called for defensive holding on third down. Then its Seattle that gets set back with an illegal block in the back. Seahawks wide receiver tried to draw a penalty with a ridiculous flop. Seattle converts on a passing play after Wilson scrambles. The Seahawks tried to run a screen but it was blown up. There may have been an offensive lineman down field, but no call. SECOND QUARTER Seahawks 3rd drive: Touchdown (7-7, tie game) Wilson keeps the ball on a read-option keeper and burns the Eagles defense for a big gain and a score. Wide open, too easy. Trent Cole bit hard on the zone read. Eagles 3rd drive: Punt McCoy breaks off a big run. Then Sanchez finds Jordan Matthews for a first down. Sanchez targets Cooper deep but the pass is too far in front. Sproles gets tackled for a loss to make it 3rd-and-18. Donnie Jones punts after a Sproles run fails to move the chains. Seahawks 4th drive: Punt Seattle fails to get much on the ground before Wilsons third down pass falls incomplete. Eagles 4th drive: Punt Jon Ryan shanks his punt and the Eagles take over near the 50. Philly runs twice but fails to pick up any yards. Matthews drops the third down pass. Three-and-out. Seahawks 5th drive: Punt Kendricks tackles Wilson in the back field on the keeper. Cole jumps offside on 3rd-and-4. Thats rough. Seattle converts a big play after Malcolm Jenkins is beaten in coverage. Fletcher Coxs tackle for loss forces the Seahawks into 3rd-and-11. Kendricks gets to Wilson and the Seahawks quarterback throws it away but its short of the line of scrimmage. Intentional grounding. Its a loss of 15 yards to force a punt. Eagles 5th drive: Punt Eagles come out running again, and they get a first down. How about that? Sanchez is getting room to run on read-option hand offs but, much like the Titans game, he isnt taking them. Maclin drops a pass thrown high by Sanchez. The Eagles quarterback then hits Cooper on third down but the pass is short of the chains. Philadelphias offense has nothing going. Seahawks 6th drive: Field goal (10-7, Seahawks) Vinny Curry lands a huge hit on Wilson for a sack to force 3rd-and-13. Thats number 7 for Curry on the year. Another 3rd-and-long, another first down conversion allowed by the Philadelphia defense. Brandon Boykin was beaten in coverage. Kendricks come up big again to force 3rd-and-15 after a Seattle delay of game penalty. Kendricks has been a force. Cox has Wilson lined up in the back field but Wilson spins and Cox falls badly. Wilson hits Paul Richardson with a pass down field. Wilson gets away with throwing a pass out of bounds from the pocket, no intentional grounding call. The Seahawks move into field goal position after a Seahawks catch along the sideline. Steven Hauschkas 43-yarder is good. Seattle squib kicks on the kickoff to end the first half. THIRD QUARTER Eagles 6th drive: Fumble McCoy runs on the first play and fumbles. Earl Thomas recovers. Auspicious start to the second half for the Eagles. Seahawks 7th drive: Touchdown (17-7, Seahawks) Wilson rolls out right and throws back left to a wide open Marshawn Lynch on the back side for an easy touchdown. Too easy. Josh Huff appears to fumble on the kickoff and Seahawks recover. Pete Carroll challenges the play and it looks close... but the Eagles keep the ball. Philadelphia was very fortunate there. Eagles 7th drive: Touchdown (17-14, Seahawks) Eagles get a first down due to pass interference from Seattle. Sanchezs throw to Ertz wasnt really close, but the Eagles will take the bail out. Next play, Sanchez doesnt miss Ertz, and instead hits him for a 35-yard touchdown. Great throw. Ertz being covered by a linebacker is a mismatch. The play is reviewed but it stands. Seahawks 8th drive: Touchdown (24-14, Seahawks) Seattle starts at their own 9-yard line after special teams provides great coverage on Cody Parkeys kickoff. Seattles gains a huge chunk of yards on a pass interference called on Bradley Fletcher. The call was... debatable. It looked like the wide receiver could have been arguably called for pass interference as well. Fletcher played the ball in the air. Wilson finds Doug Baldwin in the end zone for a touchdown with Jenkins beat in coverage. Eagles 8th drive: Punt Eagles pick up a first down but cant get much going. Sanchezs pass for Maclin with Sherman in coverage. Chip Kelly really wanted the officials to call illegal contact but he didnt get the call. Seahawks 9th drive: Punt Philadelphia gets a stop after Wilsons deep attempt on third down falls incomplete. Barwin crushed Wilson on the play. Eagles 9th drive: Punt Eagles cant get anything going... again. Byron Maxwell held Matthews arm before the ball arrived, but no call. Jason Peters flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after the play. Chip Kelly is out on the field begging for a call. Seahawks 10th drive: Punt Seattle gains 36 yards on 8 plays before having to punt to end the third quarter. FOURTH QUARTER Eagles 10th drive: Punt Sanchezs pass for Ertz on third down goes high and Ertz cant hold on. Seahawks 11th drive: Fumble Eagles force the Seahawks to 3rd-and-15. Lynch fumbles after catching a short pass and its Philadelphia ball. Eagles needed that one. Kendricks forced the fumble. Eagles 11th drive: Interception Tharold Simon picks off Sanchez on a deep pass intended for Cooper. Under-thrown ball by Sanchez. Eagles unraveling. Seahawks 12th drive: Punt Jenkins drops a potential pick-six on third down. Huge missed opportunity for Philadelphia. That could have made it a one possession game. Eagles 12th drive: Punt Sanchez sacked twice. Sanchez finds Maclin on 3rd-and-19 but its short of the marker. Eagles punt with 4:30 and counting as fans leave for the exits. Seahawks 13th drive: Time expires Seattle runs the clock out. Victory formation. FINAL SCORE: EAGLES LOSE, 24-14 The Eagles are now 9-4 on the 2014 NFL season. Bad loss.
