Earlier this week, we received final approval for a new house for a husband and wife we represent in Wasco County. The house will be sited on property that is within the special management area of the Columbia River Gorge. As far as we can tell, this is first new dwelling that has been built in the special management area for at least a decade. We worked cooperatively on this effort with Wasco County and the Friends of the Gorge - strange bedfellows most of the time, but this was a good effort by all, and a big win for a husband and wife who had spent years (and tens of thousands of dollars) on lawyers who didnt understand the Gorge Act.
