Earlier today I posted a comment about the young lady (Latia Harris) who was seen in a video beating up another young lady while her 2 year old son watched and tried to defend her. In my post I referred to Latia Harris as a SAVAGE and said further stated that WE MUST LEARN TO REPUDIATE POOR BEHAVIOR. IT HAS NO PLACE IN A CIVILIZED SOCIETY. And this is what a parent posted in response... A kid yesterday told another kid two years older than my son that my son could beat him up just to see what the kid would do. He did this with me sitting there outside. The neighborhood kid knows my son trains in boxing and MMA but all the parents and teachers know my son is one of the nicest people around and doesnt tell anyone about his training. The kid knows because we are neighbors. now my son has to start middle school this year knowing a kid two grades ahead know his trains. With me sitting there the challenged kid now says, oh you think you are tough to my son who is just sitting on his bike. I said are you really trying to pick a fight with my son in front of me. I then told him to go get his dad to bring him to the gym so he can sign a waiver and to bring a mouth piece. The kid then starts telling me he trains underground. I said my wife is a professional fighter so I would like to know the name of your gym and tell your dad I want to speak to him because I know a lot of people in the fight business around our area and well see if you train underground. The kid is 14 my kid is 11. All because a neighbors kid told the older kid my son could beat him up all this got out of hand...I then told my son if NO parents are around and a kid says you think you are tough lets see I want you to attack and dont stop until you know he wont fight back. This is not a world where you let people be bullies and try to intimidate you. Get it done before he hits first. A fight already started when the threat was made so you need to be first. Ill deal with PD and the parents but you defend yourself quickly. My son doesnt fight outside of boxing tournaments and has only been in one altercation where the kid grabbed my son by the throat and held him against the locker last year. Otherwise you would never know he trains because of his mild demenor. My kid is 11 and is not going to go the next 3 years being picked on then snap one day. Get it done early and the talkers will stop. Most bullies are all talk and dont expect kids to defend themselves and once they do the problem is over. Sucks that we havent started the school year and now my son worried all night last night because hes going into middle school which is already scarey.
