Early voting has begun. It is important that we, especially African Americans, get to the polls and vote. Too many of our forefathers sacrificed, suffered, bled and died so that our voices might be heard. Its one thing if I choose to give my vote away, but its altogether something else for laws to be enacted to keep me from voting. In every state where Republican led legislative houses have enacted such hiprocracy, we need to show up and show out. I, for one, will do all I can to keep us from going backwards. I encourage you to stand and be counted. Systemic issues continue to rise (Stand Your Ground laws and District Attorneys who do not uphold the rule of law for all regardless of race or creed need to be addressed) when we dont vote in our local elections. Please remember that all politics is local and is really where issues of bias are cemented in the local laws and ordinances that govern our lives daily. I encourage and challenge each you to like my post, share it, and then set an example by voting yourself and then posting a selfie with your voting sticker. One more thing, if you know somebody who needs help getting to the polls make time to take them.
