Eat, drink and be merry at The Booksmith tomorrow and Friday, - TopicsExpress

Eat, drink and be merry at The Booksmith tomorrow and Friday, November 21st and 22nd. From 4:00 – 6:00, Thursday, November 21, Café Iz will bring in delicious hors d’oeuvres, and not only have them on table, but also have a server passing plates (hate for you to walk many steps for free food). In addition, they’re bringing a bartender to serve fine – and we mean fine - wines. We assume you’re saying “Where’s the book?” You may never hear this from us again, but we sure hope you, or any of your friends or family don’t need Thursday’s book. It’s Divorce in Alabama by Jessica Kirk Drennan. However, if you know anyone who does, Jessica is a brilliant attorney specializing in family practice who has written the definitive book on the subject. From 5:30 – 7:00, Friday, November 22nd, New Orleans James Beard Award winning Chef John Besh will prepare and serve terrine of rare duck breast & rillettes with watermelon radishes and grilled Lisa bread from his fabulous new cookbook, Cooking from the Heart ($40). If you can’t make it Friday, you may reply to purchase signed copies of the new one as well as Chef’s earlier titles, My Family Table ($35), My New Orleans ($45), or even The Picayune’s Creole Cook Book ($40), for which he wrote the introduction. If you miss Chef Besh’s event, you may order books, but the duck stops here.
