IF ANY ER nurse doesnt know protocols, that ER nurse knows the appropriate resources on where to obtain and implement correct infection control protocols. Hospitals, in the US anyway, have Quality Assurance and Infection Control departments to assess effectiveness and manage these very situations. Hospital in NYC just performed disaster drill. The health care teams are ready IF or when the need arises. Google the CDC/ ebola and find tons of helpful accurate information.
