Echo update: I am feeling uneasy tonight, but not sure that it is not simply my micro~managing. I honestly dont think I gave much thought to his day to day habits until he got sick. As long as he ate, he pooped... life was good. Now I notice every detail. Simple things, I never noticed if he laid down during the night, now I do... It seems strange. I take his temp through out the day, never used to, any elevation panics me. In reality it is not a temp.... I wish I had a magic wand and could make it all be ok now. After what we have been through, not sure what normal is anymore. Perhaps I took it all for granted. We will be ultra sensitive with our horses, I thought we had done well with bio-security, perhaps we did. Maybe this was just fluke. Please learn from our experience, dont use communal water troughs, dont share grooming supplies... think twice about the the horse you touch, then touch your own. Cant live in a state of paranoid but we can be cautious.
