Echoes Heavy pounding echoed across the land while trees shuddered. Not a breeze whispered through their branches. Something approached the homes of human citizens, but nothing was seen. However the mountain faces appeared to change and flow as that of an ocean wave. Was it a sign? Taji’s Giant community was gentle, even playful at times. They offered their skills to the humans to search for large branches from the tallest trees to help them build shelters for their families. In return, humans traded food to care for the giant community since reaching low caused a problem for the large beings. The giants lived among the mountain ranges. Their faces were seen throughout the peaks and ridges. Their footsteps echoed across the realm. But their caution when moving near the other creatures of the land was highly regarded. So the Oracle gave them sight to watch over the many varieties of beings. Until the community evolved and nothing was ever the same. Something happened to a giant named Dreygar. His facial features changed drastically! His lip was swollen and his eyes were puffed and uneven. Even his chosen mate wondered of his new developments; but she stayed with him for in her heart, he remained the kind being he had always been. However, the giant community speculated about Dreygar being infected by a disease. They asked the Oracle, but no explanation came. They shunned him while they waited for the response hoping none of their own family members would be infected. Soon Dreygar decided to leave his home not wishing to hurt anyone. He was angry that his own people would treat him as such, but he left and his mate followed him. They took up residence near a stream at the edge of the mountain range. There he build a bridge of stones to keep the weather off of he and his woman. The only food they ate was that which blossomed from the tall trees, but without better sustenance they both grew weak and his bodily developments became more horrid. Finally, his wife devised a way to discontinue the humans from crossing the bridge until they stopped and presented them with food. They would not allow anyone to cross until they had their fill. This was difficult for the humans, but they settled for this treatment until the Oracle gave them a new answer. Humans laughed and jeered at the couple who lived under the bridge demanding food. They claimed they trolled the area for humans to help them. From that time on, the couple were known as Trolls and no longer were a part of the gentle giant community.
