Ecofeminism is an activist tool for survival. For transnational women, women of color - we have had no choice, but to engage in ecofeminism before it was even called ecofeminism. Our lives are tied to the land. From the first time a colonizer set foot in our families countries of origin, we women have had to wage ecofeminism. This is state-sponsored violence.
