Economic experts across the board now agree that sequestration, - TopicsExpress

Economic experts across the board now agree that sequestration, cuts which hardliner Republicans blackmailed congress into accepting by threatening to plunge the US into default unless these draconian cuts were passed, is responsible for slowing U.S. economic growth and recovery by 1.5%... and the damage is growing. Can any of my friends out there who still support the GOP please explain this Republican strategy? Because it sure looks like the only plan here is to undermine the president no matter how much it hurts the American people. Representative Harold Rogers (R) who leads the House Appropriations Committee acknowledged, “These are tough bills. His [Obama] priorities are going nowhere.” without even the pretext of a larger economic strategy. Seriously, many of you who support the GOP sound like thoughtful, caring people... can anyone explain this logically? Reagan never would have done stuff like this to the American people. Is it that there will be a greater good after we gut these programs by record percentages and keep millions more out of work? And how will that work - step by step? Or has the GOP - as 30 year GOP veteran Mike Lofgren states - stopped functioning as a political party and become more like an apocalyptic cult? Has the GOP lost all semblance of working for the American people for no other purpose than undermining the sitting president regardless of harm to the country?
