Ed Milliband does not understand the EU. Ed Milliband’s latest policy gaff shows how little the political elite in Westminster understand about how their powers have migrated to the EU. Mr Milliband announced a couple of days ago that he would introduce legislation to force business to offer apprenticeships to British youngsters for every worker hired from outside the EU. But it was quickly pointed out to him that to offer apprenticeships to only British born workers would be against EU law. Mr Milliband, in common with most of the politicians in Westminster, just do not understand how power now resides in the EU not with them. There is no excuse for them because they have transferred all this power under the successive Treaties they have driven through Parliament. And they have enough MEPs to tell them what is what surely? His policy is a phoney as Gordon Brown’s ‘British jobs for British workers’.
