Eflu registrar gets summons from minority commission TIMES NEWS NETWORK Hyderabad: The AP State Minority Commission has issued summons to the registrar of English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) following a harassment charge leveled by a senior official of the varsity. Deputy finance officer T Rasool Saheb lodged a complaint with the Osmania University police and the minority commission alleging that the Eflu administration harassed him for helping an ongoing probe into financial irregularities running into crores at the varsity. Saheb had access to many of the documents related to the CAG enquiry. On January 3, Saheb lodged a complaint with Osmania University police station stating he was “humiliated” and that his room was “illegally confiscated” by higher ups in the varsity administration. As per the complaint, the incident happened on January 2 at around 5.30 pm, when the in-charge registrar of the university, P Madhavan directed Saheb to “hand over the office to him” as per an order issued by the vice chancellor’s office. Saheb was asked to hand over “all files in his custody/ possession to the registrar incharge.” The order cited “logistical reasons” behind the move. In the complaint to the minority commission, Saheb stated that the varsity had no right to deny him access to his room without prior notice and a proper explanation. “Unless there is court order to seal the room and confiscate files, such an act is not permissible as per the statues of the university. No explanation was given to Saheb on the action taken,” a source alleged. Osmania University police has made a book entry against the complaint. The English and Foreign Languages University administration was unavailable for comments. A senior official however said that an enquiry was initiated against Saheb for “breach of trust”
