Do not rely solely on TV ads, talk radio, etc. Do your own research. There are also 2 constitutional amendments on the ballots. The first one is regarding raffles. A yes vote will allow raffles to be conducted for nonprofit organizations. A no vote will maintain the current law that says a raffle is a lottery and prohibited by law. The second is the method of appointing the Adjutant General. A yes vote will allow the Governor to appoint who they want as AG. A no vote will maintain the current election of an AG. Lastly, for Greenville County there is a 1% sales tax proposal on the ballot. The way it is written, the tax would be for no more than 8 years or at a max of $673,193,630 in revenue collected - whichever happens first. A yes vote will impose the 1% tax for Greenville County Residents. The only thing I have to say about that is think really hard about the for not more than 8 years. Once a tax is imposed, do you really think they will scale it back and not collect it any more? Just a thought.... Voting is your right - make sure you exercise it!
