Building Wiring Installation * Service Entrance is defined as that portion of the customers wiring including all necessary conduits, cable, and accessories which extends from the costumers main entrance switch and/or Meralcos metering equipment to and including the point of attachment to the costumers service drop on the outside of the building. -Simply means: The customer facilities recieving the supply of electricity from Meralco lines. *Service Entrance Requirements (Cont.) - the drip loop ( wire protruding at the entrance cap for connection to the service wire) shall not be shorter than 0.60 meter (2feet). - the service entrance cap shall bw installed 1 meter away from open windows and close to the point of service drop attachment to the building. - no junction box should be installed between the entrance cap and the meter socket for single metering installation. - meter socket shall be installed facing the street in a clean place free from vibration on the outside wall of the building or on a private pole within 1.53 meters to 1.83 meters from the ground. - In case of three phase 4-wire service using self-cintained meters , a # 8 mm copper neutral conductor shall be provided in the service entrance up to the service control equipment. *Service Drop - the overhead service conductors from the last pole or other aerial support to and including the splices, if any, connecting to the service entrance conductors at the building or other structure.
