Electricity to Imran’s house disconnected Our Correspondent / 14 October 2014 The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Monday disconnected power supply to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence. Iesco cited non-payment of electricity dues as the reason of disconnecting electricity supply to Imran’s residence. Imran had called for civil disobedience movement and asked people to stop paying the bills. He burned his own bill at a public rally in Lahore last month. Imran’s Bani Gala residence has three power connections — two for the main residence and a third for a tube-well. The Iesco had sent him a notice earlier this month warning that the connections would be cut off if outstanding bills are not cleared within a week. In a related development, the Multan Electric Supply Corporation has also served a similar disconnection notice on PTI-vice chairman Shah Mahmppd Qureshi. Meanwhile, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of Lahore High Court (LHC) has sent the petition seeking registration of treason case against Imran and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri to chief justice with recommendation for constitution of full bench to hear the case. The petitioner AK Dogarargued Imran and Qadri breached the court’s orders, took the law into their hands and are driving the country to anarchy
