Elizabeth B. McKellips Elizabeth Burns McKellips, 87, passed peacefully away on Nov. 20, 2013, following an extended illness. Visitation will be Saturday Nov. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating is Larry Kilpatrick. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jay O.; her parents, James and Ethel; her brother, Jerry; and her sons, Jay O Jr. and Randolph Gage and Colton. She is survived by her sister, Martha (Carlton); daughter, Debbie (Greg); daughter-in-law, Delores; grandchildren, Maria (Brian), Jay O. III Mac, Shannon, Beth (Nick), and Randy; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jay O. IV. She spent most of her life in the Quad city area. She was known for her flower arranging, crafting abilities, the joy of her home, yard and pets. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the staff of Transitional Health, Horizon Bay, and Hospice of Cabarrus County N.C. Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
