Ellen DeGeneres invites Cebuano singer in viral video? ABS-CBNnews Posted at 11/25/2014 6:09 PM | Updated as of 11/25/2014 6:09 PM MANILA - American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly invited Cebuano singer Roland Abante to guest on her program, days after videos of him belting out classics made the rounds online. Citing the uploader of Abantes videos, Tricia Mendoza, Philstar on Tuesday reported that producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show has reached out to the singer, also known as Bunot, for a possible stint on the show. As of writing, the video of Abante singing To Love Somebody already had over 824,000 views. His renditions of Youre The Inspiration and Please Forgive Me are also viral hits, respectively getting over 135,000 and 85,000 views. Should Abantes guesting on Ellen push through, it will not be the first time Fiilpino talents have been featured on the internationally aired program. In September 2013, the General Santos-based music duo of Aldrich Talonding and James Bucong performed Dance With My Father on the show after being interviewed by DeGeneres. Charice Pempengco, who similarly began as a YouTube sensation, marked the start of her international career when she performed on the program in December 2007. Singers Rhap Salazar and Zendee Tenerefe also debuted on American TV when DeGeneres invited them at different times to perform on her show in late 2012. youtube/watch?v=Thyt7-7ZWgk youtube/watch?v=VQhyFUWTzpQ
