Ellen Street near the Jewellery quarter 1873. My Great Great Grandmother Caroline Castle nee Fisher as a child bottom left, she left school at 13 to work in the jewellery quarter as a button maker, her brother Thomas Fisher also worked in the quarter is to the bottom right, the little child was Ambrose Fisher who died aged four. Her parents my great great great grandparents stand at the back wearing a bowler hat and large black bonnet! Taken around 1873, the gent with the beard, my 3rd great grandfather was a brass worker in the quarter. This street has now completely gone.
