Ellis Announcements for January 23, 2015 Happy Birthday to Jonnathon Hartman! Thanks to all the family members who came to the 4th grade Family Lunch Day! Tonight is Ellis Night at the Varsity girls/boys home basketball game! All Ellis students will have free entry. 5th Grade Spelling Bee: Tuesday, Jan 27th at 1:30pm in the Ellis gym. Ellis Elementary Student Council is having a RECESS RAFFLE in order to raise money for activities. Two homerooms will win an extra 30 minute recess! Raffles tickets are 50 cents each and can be purchased from your homeroom teacher from January 26-February 6. The winning tickets will be drawn and announced on February 6th. Thank you for supporting Student Council! PTA: Calling all parents, teachers and community members: The PTA is looking for officers for the 2015-16 school year. Please consider how you can make a difference by being part of the PTA board. This is your chance to be involved and form that strong bond we need between the parents and teachers. When we work together we can accomplish more! Not interested in holding and office, but want to be involved? We also need committee chairs! In honor of Black History month, the Clinton County R-III School District will have Zuzu Acrobats performing at the high school on Wednesday, February 11, beginning at 9:45 a.m. Zuzu Acrobats has previously been on Americas Got Talent. The performance is open to the public. The After Prom Committee will host a Silent Auction and Raffle during Courtwarming January 23. The silent auction will feature five valuable gift baskets including a family pool pass to Bodie’s Pool for summer 2015, Paradise Locker grilling essentials, a baking basket full of everything you’ll need, and two CCR-III Tiger baskets including an Activities pass for next season. A powder-coated MU chair for all you Tiger fans will also be auctioned off. (The item was donated by Powderworx.) The raffle item is a quilt crafted by retired CCR3 teacher Debbie Helton. Tickets will be available to purchase during Thursday, January 22nd’s JV game and again on the 23rd. The drawing will be during half time of the final Courtwarming game. Absences: Please call the office at 539-2187 or e-mail [email protected] by 10am the day your child is absent from school or leave a message before school hours at ext. 243. If we have no contact with you, a resource officer will be sent to the home to check on the safety of the student. Two hour late starts may be utilized on inclement weather days. In the event of an unscheduled late start, you will be notified by usual means such as local television stations, textcaster, and the school website. The two hour late start will apply to every week day. Therefore, the starting time at Ellis will be 10:28 a.m. and the middle school and high school will begin at 10:22 a.m. no matter which day the late start occurs, even Wednesday.
