Emergency Services are still dealing with the crash of a large truck and trailer unit from earlier this morning on the Desert Road SH 1. The truck and trailer overturned about 14 kms north of Waiouru Township at about 1.40am this morning with the driver receiving only minor injuries. The Desert Road will be closed for possibly 4-5 hours to allow for the recovery of the vehicle and clearing the scene. Diversions are in place for both north and south bound traffic via the National Park route.
