Emina Bektas Captures Singles final! After capturing the doubles title on Saturday, Emina Bektas came out strong, serving 15 aces in a highly competitive match to capture the title on Sunday. With a crowd on hand of 200 plus, Brooke Austin did not go down easily. Austin took the first set by moving the ball well and setting up winners despite Bektas’s 7 aces. Bektas then took over the match serving an additional 8 aces and controlling the match with her strong serve. It proved to be more than Austin could handle with Bektas taking the second and third set 6-4, 6-2. Both matches were Bektas first tournament championships. Emina will be playing Number one singles for Michigan this fall. Brooke, who is still in high school has not yet decided if she will turn professional or move on to college tennis.
