Empirical apologetics rests upon probability. And the Molinist and classical apologist William Lane Craig is all too happy to admit so. This is the inevitable outcome when you argue TO scripture rather than FROM scripture. In Calvinism we do NOT use empirical arguments for the existence of God (contra modern Calvinists Cornelius Van Til, Greg Bahnsen, John Gerstner, and R.C. Sproul). Our knowledge of God comes from the innate knowledge--revealed by God--which all men are born with (Romans 1:18-20)...which is sufficient only to damn us; and the propositional revelation given to us in scripture (2 Tim. 3:16). The only evidence we need is scripture alone. Jonathan Edwards said that the Word of God does not “go about begging for its evidence, so much as some think; it has the highest and most proper evidence in itself. (The Works of Jonathan Edwards, Vol. 1, p. 293) Craig doesnt start and rest his worldview upon scripture. He starts and rests his worldview on empiricism and the alleged trustworthiness of his senses. This is not Christian apologetics...this is pagan philosophy. But dont take my word for it. In this short clip Craig tells you himself where his worldview leads...to skepticism. Sola Scriptura!
