Management Trainee- all locations throughout the Midwest. • The Management Trainee Program is geared towards recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors. This 24-week, hands-on job experience offers the opportunity for each Trainee to become part of a team, expand upon their experience, actively participate in all areas of Dayton Freights operations, as well as gain knowledge of our Company, culture, and the Transportation Industry. Additionally, the program educates each individual on future-based leadership skills so that upon completion of the 24-weeks, they are confident and competent to take on a management position within our Company. Qualifications: Must possess a valid Bachelors degree from an accredited college. Must be willing to relocate to any Service Center. Must be willing to work a rotation of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift. ------------------------------------ Dock Worker- all locations throughout the Midwest. Minimum Qualifications • 18 years of age • Basic math skills • Fluent in English • Able to pass a drug screen Dock Workers are responsible for loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner, as well as carry and position freight for maximum use of trailer space. Additional job duties include: • Completing pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment • Properly document all freight control processes • Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs • Available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments • Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual Operations Supervisor- all locations throughout the Midwest Minimum Qualifications: • Knowledge of the LTL/ Transportation Industry • Managed Drivers and Dock Workers • Knowledge of the surrounding geographical area to the Service Center ------------------------------------ Operations Supervisors are responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and implementing methods and procedures that will ensure the most efficient and economical routing and movements of customers’ freight in an error-free manner. Additional job duties include: • Compilation of production and service records and measure conformance to standards • Inspects and measures performance of personnel resulting in changes in work practices necessary to improve overall Service Center operations • Reviews logs and reports and confers with shift personnel to ascertain pertinent scheduling, production and administrative support requirements • Sets up appointment freight deliveries • Performs and or assists with billing, rating, manifesting and analysis of freight weight and size • Maintains excellent communication with external and internal customers • Assists with training, development and evaluation of production and/or clerical personnel performance and recommends or initiates documentation • In conjunction with the Service Center Manager, recruits, qualifies, interviews, hires, trains and develops Service Center personnel • Ensures that Service Center premises are protected and maintained • Assists in the investigation, reporting and initiation of corrective actions for accidents, job related injuries employee discrepancies • Understand and applies company safety practices including DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations • Assists with the facilitation of information meetings with Service Center team members • Effectively handles special assignments as directed ------------------------------------ Pick-up and Delivery Driver- all locations throughout the Midwest Minimum Qualifications • At least 23 years of age • At least 1 year of commercial driving experience • Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements • Valid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements • Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card • No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operation in the past 3 years • No Felonies in the past 7 years • Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years • Basic math skills • Fluent in English • Able to pass a drug screen P&D Drivers are responsible for the transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and customers as well as lift, carry and position freight for maximum use of trailer space. Additional job duties include: • Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized • Properly document all freight control processes • Ability to read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications • Ability to affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary • Maintains cleanliness of company vehicle • Assists customers in preparations of shipping papers • Interacts and converses with external/internal customers • Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs • Available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments Adheres to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual ------------------------------------ Transportation Driver Minimum Qualifications • At least 23 years of age • At least 1 year of commercial driving experience • Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement • Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card • No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operations in the past 3 years • No felonies in the past 7 years • Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years • Basic math skills • Fluent in English • Able to pass a drug screen ------------------------------------ Transportation Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims- free manner between our Service Centers, as well as lift, carry and position freight for maximum use of trailer space.
