Empty Bowls Project is a grassroots effort to raise awareness of hunger and food insecurity in Limestone County. The third annual Empty Bowls event is scheduled for Thursday, SEPTEMBER 26, 2013! Silent Auction starts at 11:00 a.m. -Lunch is noon- 1:00 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church on Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, AL. Tickets are $15. Tickets can be reserved at Friendship Church, 256-233-4906. About the FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER: The Athens-Limestone County Family Resource Center is the "GO TO" place for information on family resources and social services here in Athens and Limestone County. They support families by providing one-on-one mentoring on financial, employment, child/parent relationships, housing, or any social service issues. They are a non-profit, donor supported, community organization dedicated to improving the quality of family life for all families in our community.
