Encouragement for Young People Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 God can use you! Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel forty- two years. 1 Samuel 13:1 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 2 Samuel 5:4 Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. 2 Chronicles 34:1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign. 2 Kings 11:21 Mary was a teenager when she gave birth to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Of all the speculation 12-15 years old, that is not in the Scriptures however. Jesus was 12 years old and in the temple teaching and answering questions. There are so many examples in the Bible about the many young people God used in a mighty way. God can use you, are you willing to surrender to His will and His ways? What has the Holy Spirit pressed your heart, don’t allow your age to limit you, God will not called you to do something you can’t do or He is not willing to help you and provides what is needed. Go ahead; take a leap of faith while you are young. If I could name the greatest regret in my own life, it would be: Not being saved and serving God sooner or at an earlier age.
