Albert Gerrits Cuyp, Dutch painter, engraver and etcher, was born October 20, 16230, in the city of Dordrecht in the southern Netherlands in the family of the artist, a well-known portrait painter Jakob Gerrits Cuyp, a disciple of Abraham Blumert of Utrecht. Grandfather and uncle of Albert Cuyp were also artists, main specialization which were stained. Interest in painting the boy appeared very early, which is not surprising:the father often took his son with him to the Studio, where the future artist helped his father in the preparation of paints, long considered the finished work of his father and the creative process of creating works. Among the citizens of the Albert Cuyp enjoyed the deserved respect for their social activities, but also artistic merit were not forgotten. Many influential contemporaries bought the work of Albert Cuyp: landscapes, portraits, still lifes and genre paintings with religious or domestic scenes. Albert Cuyp had a large art Studio in Dordrecht, among his students were known Dutch painters of Barent van Karat and his brother Abraham van Karat . In 1658. the artist married to Cornelia Bosman, a rich widow in the Navy Johan van de Corput coming from esteemed in the city collection.
