English laurel... You know it, that ubiquitous shrub seen commonly in gardens. Its big, its evergreen and serves its purpose well as a privacy screen. But why not make it a little more interesting? Heres an English laurel that has been standardized (meaning it has a single trunk) and pleached (limbed up and hedged). Plant it over a boxwood hedge as seen in these images and wah la!, a clever way to add a little style to a garden work-horse!
