Here is the main meal..... There is a common phrase used to describe an organization’s inability to respond to changes is the “Boiled Frog Phenomenon”. It is argued that if you take a frog and put it in a pot containing hot water, then the frog will practically jump out. However, if you put a frog in a pot of cold water and boil the water gently, you will eventually boil the frog to death. For those asking why can’t the frog jumped out when the water is warmed slowly,the answer is that frogs can only respond to unexpected changes but not to slow or gradual ones. I always like to think of a governor as more of a manager rather than a politician. A manager in this sense refers to a person capable of tapping into the talents and resources available in order to create an economically viable society. Looking at a county as a corporate company, it therefore requires highly skilled, professionally trained and knowledgeable individuals who exhibit creativity, intuition, and commitment to deliver on the expectations of voters bestowed on their shoulders not a fence sitter. A governor should show desire, determination and commitment not only to serve by to deliver on the hopes of the people.Leaders or, managers should have the ability to motivate and bring the best out of the people. Using the structures and resources under their leadership, a manager should be able to do things right while at the same time doing the right things. It is apparent that our county has lagged behind in terms of development. In that measure, a lot of things deed to be fixed; from creating a favorable environment for business, fixing our roads,agriculture, security, health to educating our children. A governor therefore should be visionary, with a clear blue print and roadmap on how to execute such developments. As citizen we should not be cynical let all say no to some examples of governors.....
