Enough already :( I dont care if your a current cop, ex-cop, or just know one by association. This is ridiculous and needs to stop. There are so many good cops out there and these few bad cops are staining the entire band of men and women who have sworn to serve and protect. Police brutality needs to stop period. And its time for those good cops to not just stand by and support or say/do nothing, as their brother as he kills people. There are multiple other ways to apprehend a person that do not involve death. How can you justify five cops choking this man to death? Please, I would love someone to explain it to me. Is this an issue of race, there is no doubt about it. Is the system rigged for white, male men to get away with countless crimes because they hold an unspoken weapon, they have a penis, have lighter skin, and have people of power just like them to support them. Where is the power for the African American victims, all though not always necessarily innocent, who by the fact that they are Americans, have the same rights as any one of the white males of power, and yet those men keep the ball in their court and do not answer for their crimes. We all, as Americans, have the right to protest these actions and try and promote a nationwide change in not only the court system, but as a social construct as well. I remember my grade school history teachers lecturing on the founding of this country, the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and other such documents, that we the people have rights that the government must stand for and protect, but those teachers never taught us what really happens to our rights and how the system allows little allotments to bring about change in this broken process and force those of power to answer for breaking these rights, as well as enforce the application of these rights to everyone. Well I have sat here for years watching these problems unfold, again and again. There is always upset and following the incidents and there has been little to no change. It is time for people like you and me to do something about it. Why should we feel powerless to bring about change, when the majority of us support the change? Why should the common response be well nothing is going to happen/change anyways? If you have taken the time to read this, take the time to think about the change you want to see, and how you as an individual can go about achieving those changes. Personally I have no idea where to start or how to even become involved with the movement to bring about change, but I do no how to speak out. So I will start there, and begin to make my voice heard on a small scale, here on social media, or in conversation when these issues are humored. I will not just stay quiet and do nothing. To many people are already doing that. If you are still with me reading this book of a status I encourage you to do the same, because if you took the time to read this or watch the video, I would bet that you do care and these issues matter to you.
