Enough with the games already. If you support Uber in New Orleans, reach out to your councilmember to let him/her know you support technology in New Orleans. You may be surprised by how responsive your Councilmember is. Latoya Cantrell (or maybe a staffer) has always responded to my emails very quickly. And, if you havent signed up for Uber, heres a code for $30 off your first ride: uberNOLA30 From Uber: NOLA NEEDS UBER We’ve been working hard for the better part of a year to bring UberBLACK to NOLA and provide our city with the safe, reliable transportation it deserves. Meanwhile, thousands of supporters like yourself have emailed, called, and tweeted City Council time and time again, urging them to stop delaying and pass legislation to pave the way for Uber in New Orleans. Unfortunately, some councilmembers still refuse to listen to your voice and continue to delay any decision to allow greater access to improved transportation options. Certain councilmembers have even said they support technology-driven transportation alternatives in recent council meetings and recognize that our presence in the city is the future of transportation, despite their action back in August to delay the vote. “This is great. I will be supportive of it because the truth of the matter is, I would like to think that I am one of the greatest advocates of change, innovation, and technology.” - Councilmember James Gray “I’m all for the technology. I think it is great.” and “They are the future. They are the present. They are happening” - Councilmember Susan Guidry So what are they trying to achieve by preventing more choice for New Orleans residents and visitors? Limiting competition and choice does nothing to benefit you and only serves to protect special interests. Tell Councilmembers Cantrell, Gray, Guidry, and Ramsey that #NOLAneedsUber! City Council will meet again on Thursday to consider Uber’s fate. Use the contact information below, and tell Councilmembers Cantrell, Gray, Guidry, and Ramsey that enough is enough -- stop stalling and bring Uber to NOLA! To RSVP for the City Council meeting on Thursday, click here. If they acknowledge Uber will be a part of the city, then they should stop trying to delay it from happening. You deserve better than a City Council that disregards the voice of its people. - Team Uber NOLA TAKE ACTION Councilmember Email Phone Latoya Cantrell [email protected] 504-658-1020 Nadine Ramsey [email protected] 504-658-1030 Susan Guidry [email protected] 504-658-1010 James Gray [email protected] 504-658-1050
