Environment Canada has issued a Special weather statement for Winnipeg and most of southeast Manitoba: A strong Arctic cold front is expected to push across Southern Manitoba Sunday morning. Some minor snowfall will accompany the front; strong northerly winds gusting to 70 or 80 km/h will lead to extensive blowing and drifting snow with blizzard like conditions especially over the Red River Valley. Sharply colder air will flood in with afternoon temperatures in the minus twenties and wind chill values approaching minus 40.
