Equator Prize 2014 Call for Nominations ----> 10 days left Dear Colleagues, There are now only 10 days left to nominate for the Equator Prize 2014. The Equator Prize is awarded every two years to outstanding local sustainable development solutions for people, nature and resilient communities. *Take 20 minutes to nominate a leading community-based project that is effectively reducing poverty through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.* Past winners have included: • Community protected areas • Agriculture and farming cooperatives • Community-based adaptation projects • Wildlife protection initiatives • Local water committees • Community-managed forests • Locally-managed marine areas • Seed banks • Disaster risk reduction projects • Land rights advocacy groups...and more For nomination forms in 16 different languages, or to access the online nomination system, please visit equatorinitiative.org The nomination deadline is March 22nd, 2014.
