Essential Jesus Day 39: Luke 4: 31-44 (Reflection by Linda Van Cleef) His message had authority...the authority of His Father. The authority of truth, love, peace, joy, healing, of all that people then and now search for but find so hard to believe in and hold onto. The people didnt want Jesus to leave them for fear they would lose what he had given them. Those fruits would be gone they thought, but as seeds that fall on fertile soil grow and prosper, some of those people would not lose the gifts He had given them. They would also grow and prosper in Jesus love. I cant help but think that His ministry to thousands, with authority, was a basic reason for the raising up and survival of the early church. Praise God!
