Ethan has still continued to make progress. He is all the way off of his blood pressure medications. They have been able to either take away or lower some other meds as well. Today they plan to aggressively decrease his support from the ventilator, and increase his dialysis. They have removed about 1 1/2 liters of fluids since he started, but still have about 3 to go. They will try to get 1 liter today if he can tolerate it. Just 4 days ago, they were worried about the kids making it here on time to tell Ethan goodbye. Sweet Ethan has been so tough, and such an amazing fighter. He still has a ways to go but is doing much better than expected so far. Now we are somewhat in a race against time. The chemo he got should hold his leukemia at bay for about 3 weeks total. We are already almost 1 week in, so we have about 2 weeks to go before his cancer starts to grow again. We need to do the T cells before it gets too high. If we are able to do the T cell therapy, it has some pretty severe side effects as well that he would have to fight his way through. He has a tough road ahead of him for a full recovery, but he has surprised everyone so far. Hopefully his little body has the strength to keep going!
