In a statement, Facebook said it is continuously modifying online rules and is using new tools to crack down on suspicious activities within the Website. It reiterated that it immediately implements action to counter such suspicious behaviors by blocking accounts and even removing fake likes. The social network has reiterated that the tools that it is using have become even more sophisticated. Facebook even revealed that it sometimes shares some of its spam-fighting techniques and technology to the academic community to help other organizations and firms to fight and prevent similar online problems. Going to courts Facebook said it also sues identified spammers to remind everyone that would-be offenders would be fought back as a way of preventing abuse on the platform. At times, the site implements limit of ‘likes’ per account just to make spammers’ operations futile. The company even has an incentive program to further fight scammers behind fake likes. Such campaign is considered as important in curtailing fraudulent activity that targets everyone, including advertisers, page owners, and users on the platform.
