Even most of my doctor friends consider this to be unreasonable. If you or your loved one is mistreated in the ER in Texas, you almost have to prove that the ER staff intended to cause harm. I think Emergency Departments of hospitals should have warning signs to that effect. And my experience in a recent ER case suggests that they should also have warning signs that there are some conditions they cannot treat--kinda like We do not accept personal checks or No shirt, no shoes, no service or my favorite, sign at Adelitas in Santa Fe this summer: Not responsible for accidents! americanprogress.org/issues/civil-liberties/news/2014/10/21/99402/in-texas-no-justice-for-injured-patients/
