Evening Everyone... I hate seeing good people get in trouble for things they may not be aware of. I have seen several examples this week where people are scanning, retyping instructions and/or snapping photos of a pattern that belongs in a magazine, book and even from other websites. Please be sure when sharing a pattern, just provide a link where it can be found to prevent yourself from getting into hot water. If the pattern isnt free or belongs in a book, its a violation of copyright to share those instructions out. Do not paste and copy instructions even from free patterns found online. Simply just put a link to steer us in the right direction. Yes... a lot of people ask for the patterns and we all love patterns here... I know there is peer pressure in wanting to be helpful to provide information and patterns to so many people who ask for it. But do not put yourself in a position of breaking the law. Saying the pattern isnt free or cannot be shared is legit and fair and we as a community need to respect that fact. This isnt meant to sound cranky... but I want to make sure good people dont get in trouble.
