Events at the Geelong Botanic Gardens SUNDAY 11 AUGUST: Plants of Chile: Our Gardens display a wide range of Chilean plants including trees on the National Trust Register of Significant Trees, plants accustomed to surviving on moisture absorbed from fogs, colourful desert plants from North Chile and evergreens from Southern Chile. Join our tour to see some of these striking and unexpected Chilean plants including some now extinct on Easter Island but growing here in our 21st Century Garden and learn more about the Chilean Wine Palm, the emblem of the Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens. Meet your guide at 2.00 pm on the front steps of the Geelong Botanic Gardens. Gold coin donation.
